Job Posting:  Director of Music and Worship Arts

Fairview Church of Danville, Virginia, an independent congregation in the Wesleyan/Methodist tradition, is seeking a Director of Music and Worship Arts for our growing congregation. The director will lead our choral ministries (adult and children) and our bell choir ministry. The director's primary focus will center upon our traditional worship service at 11:00 AM on Sundays, although participation in our contemporary worship service at 8:45 AM on Sundays will be welcome. It is anticipated that the director will interact with other members of our staff team ministry in regular meetings and planning events for the larger congregation. A Bachelor's degree in music, music education, or closely related field of study is required, along with related and relevant experience. Previous experience in church music ministry is strongly preferred. While this is currently a part-time position, we will consider structuring a full-time position for the right candidate with a combination of gifts and graces.

 

Danville, Virginia, with a population of 42,000+, is located in Southside Virginia on the North Carolina border.  We are a 45-minute drive from the Greensboro-High Point area, a 1 hour and 15 minutes drive to the Durham-Chapel Hill-Raleigh area, and less than 1.5 hours from the Lynchburg, Virginia area.  Averett University and Danville Community College are located in our community, and the Danville region features a number of historic sites and museums.  Smith Mountain Lake is only a 1 hour and 15 minutes drive away.
